With her symbolic and dream-like illustrations and paintings, Giacoma Di Vieste’s approach to her work as an artist has a strong mythological character. Experienced places, people encountered, objects seen all acquire meaning in her memory, at a distance of time, becoming symbols, ‚fantastic and universal‘ myths as the writer Cesare Pavese used to say. The reading of narrative texts serve to formalize her images which are then represented in a continuous dialectical game and according to different techniques. After having completed her studies at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, the initial ground for experimentation in design and representation, Giacoma Di Vieste moved to Genova where she is currently working as an architect for Francesca Torzo Architetto.
